Greets, LOL... I knew that this would come up eventually... And I'm sure I sent the answer to HateR_Kint... Anyway: Here's the Official Response: The first reason for the name is this: It's an old in-joke between me and PsySniper (we were the founding members). It's a long story... And the more satisfactory answer: A passing interest in Psychic abilities (something which I still don't really know if I believe in...), and the subsequent path to Psychic Warfare (which, some time ago, led me to my current Alias: PsyWarrior) resulted in the idea of a group of 'enhanced' warriors, leading the way in a new kind of conflict. This is the original idea behind PSYPROD's title: We are a group of 'enhanced'( ;D) specialist Editors, working to improve OFP for the community, not for our own personal gain. I know it doesn't make much sense, but I'll go and find something which does. Actually, I think it was in an E-Mail from HateR_Kint... It's probably one of the least 'logical' titles in the OFP community: Ballistic addon studios makes perfect sence. Decisive Killing Machines, the same. The chain-of-command as well. Psychic Productions? Doesn't make much sense at first, but hopefully, that will help us to stand apart from the crowd  That, and quality missions and addons, of course... ;D Supr. Cmdr. You mean you haven't noticed the 'enhancements' yet? It's clearly stated in the microscopicprint in your contract... Sorry. I seem to have gone over the top with the Propaganda again... Well, at least you didn't use "Studio" at all in your group's name. Though there aren't that many OFP "Studios" out there in the Community, the number is just enough to cause, at least from me, a groan: "Not another 'studio'!" |

Actually, I'll have to admit that you will sometimes find a reference to "Psychic Productions Operation Flashpoint Studios" But that's just a safety, in case I try to take over the entire modding community for every game, or for use in formal documents (such as death warrents ). However, the word 'studios' is avoided whenever possible... As a team, we're just Psychic Productions. The OFP studios bit is just appended for people who may not know who we are, or what we do (to make it clear that we edit in OFP). If I stuck 'Studios' on the end of the title as a permanent fixture, it would defeat the point of the whole 'Originality' thing... ;D -Psy|W |
